The Maia armchair combines traditional and contemporary elements.

Although the chair is formed on simple lines of its shapely wooden frame, its back curves and culminates with an outward curl, giving a neoclassical feel.

The frame comes in a choice of three woods: rich, glossy ebony, light understated beech or strikingly striated zebrano. When the chair is made of zebrano, its decorative, neoclassical qualities come to the fore. However, because its overall shape is clean and graceful, the chair also has a distinctly contemporary air whilst still harking back to a distinctively classical era.
