New Collections - Spring 2015

Jim Thompson

Jim Thompson casts tradition aside and creates a daring and spectacular new look and feel inspired by nature, art and vivid Asian textiles. New creative director Ou Baholyodhin re-examines a vast treasure trove of sumptuously colourful fabrics to create his debut Forbidden Colours collection.

But, what makes the collection “forbidden”? By the time the American Jim Thompson founded his now famous silk company in Thailand in the 1950s, strict palace laws governing Siamese court dress were obsolete. In earlier times, the finest silks, velvets and imported prints were restricted to the nobility, with special colours and patterns limited to those of high rank or status. To create his debut FORBIDDEN COLOURS collection, Jim Thompson’s talented new Creative Director Ou Baholyodhin reexamined this vast treasure trove of sumptuously colourful fabrics, once forbidden to most. Beyond the magnificent colours of our new collection, the textures and touch of these incredible fabrics benefit from Jim Thompson’s decades of experience with handspun and hand-woven textiles created from the finest natural fibers. Here regal silks, cottons, linens and velvets are juxtaposed with brilliant modern fabrics that are created to endure, but have a hand-woven look and feel. Decades ago Jim Thompson was responsible for those unforgettable silks worn by the royals in the classic Hollywood film “The King and I”.

The FORBIDDEN COLOURS collection promises a vibrant, engaging and breathtaking selection of fabrics that will be just as memorable!

No. 9 Thompson

No.9 THOMPSON SPRING COLLECTION 2015 by Richard Smith

With its original inspiration coming from the textile crafts of Central Asia, through its joyous colour and spirit, ANATOLIA manages to encapsulate the casual, free spirit of the entire Mediterranean coastline. Blue and white prints have the feel of the Greek Islands, blanket style weaves transport us to Tangiers and abstract patterns recall the complex rugs of Turkey.

Loro Piana

The new "Windrose" collection brings the light, charm, energy and colour of the Mediterranean sea to the home.

As is customary for Loro Piana, natural fibres take centre stage. Linen is used generously, as are cotton, silks and wools as soft as cashmere. They are carefully worked to enhance their intrinsic qualities: lightness, understated brightness and softness to touch. Even the wise choice of colours evokes southern seascapes with indigo blue and a host of other shades of blue and aquamarine, teamed with neutral tones.

Holly Hunt

Holly Hunt ‘Great Outdoors’ collection extends the range and choice of worry free textiles for use indoors or out. Holly Hunt has partnered with Sunbrella® to create new exclusive patterns, custom yarn twists, and luxe double width sheers. Each item is woven with the strength to withstand the elements and all of life’s moments, even those that require bleach! A special 3-year warranty on this collection covers any normal wear and proves their commitment to quality and performance.
